About The HIVE Lab
The Health Innovation Via Engineering (HIVE) Lab at NUI Galway, was established in 2019. It aims to deliver novel health solutions through interdisciplinary collaboration. It is led by Professor Derek O’Keeffe, a dual trained Physician/Engineer whose research work encompasses the domains of Digital Health, AI and Robotics. It recently launched the world’s first delivery of insulin by drone, as well as a novel COVID-19 PPE sourcing website for frontline workers, www.CovidMedSupply.org, and a COVID-19 proximity alert www.spacer.ie
